|Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job||
The Department of Sociology at Sam Houston State University announces an opening for a nine-month lecturer position to begin Fall 2015. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, maintain an active research program, and provide service to the university and the discipline. We are open to applicants from any specialization. Applicants should address in their cover letter how their specialization will contribute to existing department strengths in rural sociology, social inequality, sociology of food and agriculture, community, environment, disasters, and health.
|Educational Requirements for the Position||
A PhD in sociology or a closely related discipline must be completed by the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching effectiveness is required. The department offers several undergraduate courses online.
