Position Summary: Two Lecturer II or Lecturer III Positions in Composition and Rhetoric 

We invite applications for two non-tenure track, renewable Lecturer II or Lecturer III appointments to begin August 2015. 

Responsibilities: The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to diversity through their teaching, research, and service. Teaching load is 4/3 with reductions for administrative, curriculum-development, and/or program-assessment duties. Teaching will include core-curriculum courses in technical/professional writing and first-year composition, and may include teaching of upper-level undergraduate courses in advanced technical writing or online tutoring. Successful candidates will have these areas of expertise, interest, and experience: 
At least one of the successful candidates will teach online and traditional Core Writing (undergraduate) classes in first-year composition, technical/professional writing and will help build and administer the ongoing eComposition and eTechComm programs by helping develop the program's multimodal curriculum, mentoring graduate teaching assistants, and training and mentoring instructional assistants (embedded online tutors). 

The other successful candidate(s) may or may not have expertise and experience in online teaching but will teach traditional and/or online Core Writing classes and may participate in some aspects of writing program administration.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for Lecturer II: MA or other relevant graduate degree in English or a related discipline by August 2015; two years or more of post-secondary teaching experience in technical and professional writing and/or composition and rhetoric. 

Minimum qualifications for Lecturer III: PhD or other relevant terminal graduate degree in English or a related discipline by August 2015; four years or more of post-secondary teaching experience in technical and professional writing and/or composition and rhetoric.  
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications for Lecturer II & Lecturer III: Academic specialization or significant professional experience in technical/professional writing or composition and rhetoric; experience teaching composition and/or professional-technical writing with an approach that emphasizes multimodal literacies; experience designing and teaching first-year online writing courses; experience mentoring undergraduate tutors and/or graduate teaching assistants; demonstrated record of interest or experience in writing program administration; experience creating digital multimodal instructional tools (e.g., screen captured instruction materials, A/V feedback); ability to contribute to diversity through their teaching, research, and service; a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
